Lately

Ammon recently turned 10 months old! He has changed so much and is starting to outgrow a lot of his clothes. He is learning so much and is able to do a lot of new things. He can sit on his own and he can get on his knees and scoot backwards, and he is SO close to crawling. He loves to eat and eats a lot of the things that we eat. He loves playing with blocks, especially knocking down whatever Cameron and I build for him. He's starting to spit out his pacifier whenever we give it to him, so I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to wean him off the pacifier pretty easily. He weighs a little over 17 lbs and is growing like a weed. He is so happy and smiling all the time and we love making him laugh. He is such a sweet baby and we are so grateful for him, and so happy to have such a wonderful baby!

Better Late Than Never

I am SO behind on my blog. This is my new year's post, and it's a month late.

It's so hard to believe another year has come and gone and we're starting a new one. 2010 was definitely a memorable year for us. Here are some of the highlights:

January:

Cameron started a new job at Radio Shack in January and became the store manager shortly after finishing his first year at SVU.

February:

Not a whole lot happened in February

March:

We took a vacation to Florida in March while I was pregnant-one last trip to ourselves :)

We moved into a new apartment.

Our son Ammon was born on March 27, 2010, 8 weeks early. He was in the NICU for almost 2 months before we could bring him home.

April:

Cameron turned 22!

Some of Cameron's family and my brother Alex were able to come and meet Ammon for the first time while he was in the hospital.

May:

We brought Ammon home on May 20 (his original due date).

I got to celebrate my first Mother's Day :)

Cameron's dad and Brooke and Justin came to visit during Memorial Day weekend.

June:

I went to North Carolina with Ammon for the first time and spent a week with my mom.

Cameron celebrated his first Father's Day :)

July:

We took a trip to Maine to visit family so that everyone could meet Ammon.

Ammon was blessed, and there was a lot of family there to celebrate. Cameron, Uncle Sean, Uncle Mark, Grampy McKenney, Grampy Thomas, Uncle Justin and our good friends Buzzy Dill and Shane Reitze were all able to participate.

August and September weren't very eventful.

October:

We celebrated Ammon's first Halloween! We dressed him up as a hotdog and Cameron and I dressed up as ketchup and mustard.

We bought a new car! Well, new to us.

November:

I turned 22!

We celebrated our first Thanksgiving as a family of three.

December:

Our nephew Jaxson was born!

We celebrated our first Christmas as a family! We loved celebrating with Ammon and watching him open presents!

We got to spend New Year's Eve with Brooke and Justin and we got to meet Jaxson!

Meeting Jaxson!

On New Year's Eve, Brooke, Justin and Jaxson came to visit ont their way home from Tennessee! We got to meet Jaxson for the first time! It was so cute when Ammon and Jaxson first met...they just stared at each other! It was so funny! We are so excited to have a nephew and we can't wait to see them again in April!

We love Jaxson! We have an adorable nephew!
We had a great time! We stayed up way too late talking and playing games, but it was so great to see our family and spend time with them, and it was SO fun to meet the newest addition to the Thomas family! We can't wait to go on vacation to...DISNEY WORLD with them in April!

9 months!

Our sweet little man turned 9 months old on Dec 27! I can't believe it's been 9 months since he was born! He is getting so big and learning so much!
He LOVES to eat! He eats almost everything that Cam and I eat, if it can be mashed up really well. Some of his favorite foods are bananas, green beans, spaghetti, sweet potatoes, crackers, and toast.
He's learning to drink out of a sippy cup.
He can pick up food and feed himself.
He is SO happy! He smiles all the time and loves it when we make him laugh!
He has improved SO much on learning how to sit without support! He can sit for about 20-30 seconds on his own. We are so proud of him! Yesterday was the first time Cameron got to see him sit for a long time, and you could see the pride and happiness on his face. It was a great thing to see :)
His favorite toy is his Mickey Mouse rattle. His face lights up and he gives a huge smile when he sees it.
He said Da-Da! He had been making a dadadada noise for a while, but one morning he looked right at Cameron and said "DA-DA!" He gets so happy when Cameron comes home from work and he loves being with his daddy :)
We love Ammon so much! He is our greatest blessing and he never fails to amaze us!

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas! One of the traditions in my family was to have root beer floats on Christmas Eve. So, when Cameron got home, we had a nice Christmas Eve dinner (homemade mac & cheese, homemade bread, salad & sparkling cider- this will be one of our traditions every year) and then had root beer floats and watched Christmas movies with the tree lit.

This was Ammon's first Christmas and we were so excited! Even though he won't remember, we were still excited to give him his stocking and have him open presents.

Watching Daddy open his present

Ammon LOVED the wrapping paper!

Cameron had mentioned to me that he wanted to learn how to play the guitar, so I went searching and found one online with some accessories included for a really good deal. I put the guitar pick in his stocking and he opened the guitar after he found it. He was so happy!

More presents=more paper!

New puppy from Mommy & Daddy :)

Cameorn got me a new set of cookware! My old set was definitely not cutting it anymore, and this was awesome! I was so happy, I cried...but just a little bit ;)

Happy Boy!
